April 2020 playlist montageClick here to go straight to the playlist on Spotify

Another strange month in April as life under so-called ‘lockdown’ continues to one degree or another around a fair amount of the world.

Thankfully there has been a lot of new music entering my world, along with a chance to listen to some older stuff I’d missed, over the last few weeks.

With that in mind I’ve not new tracks for up and coming act aplenty this month including Dribbler, The Recks, Monty Taft, Hot Juice and Oliver Marson.

Along with that some classic stuff from The Damned and Silver Ginger 5 along with tracks from movies that sprang to mind from Brewer & Shipley and Roy Orbison and, simply because it came up on shuffle and for what ever reason struck a chord so Carter USM too.

With that in mind here’s the playlist with some related links and below that the Spotify version followed by a couple of bonus bits…

Playlist

  • Brewer & Shipley – One Toke Over The Line (as heard in Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas)
  • Dribbler – Beachside (single)
  • The Recks – The Milk’s Gone Bad (single)
  • Monty Taft – Sacrifice (single)
  • Hot Juice – I Don’t Mind (single)
  • The Damned – Smash It Up, Pt. 1 & 2 (from Machine Gun Etiquette)
  • Oliver Marson – Time For Love (single)
  • Roy Orbison – In Dreams (as heard in Blue Velvet)
  • Silver Ginger 5 – Church Of The Broken Hearted (from Black Leather Mojo)
  • Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine – The Only Living Boy In New Cross (from 1992 – The Love Album)

Along with the above I retroactively reviewed a couple of EPs from Teaspoonriverneck, Sunset’s Trip and IV that you can hear on Bandcamp:

And Tantale marked their 10th anniversary as a band by releasing a rather special live album, One Moment, that again is on Bandcamp and not Spotify and here’s a video taster:
