For February edition of BBC Music Introducing In Guernsey I featured a familiar band along side a brand new artist.
Lord Vapour will be well known to anyone with an eye on the island’s music scene through their relentless gigging and well received albums, particularly their second Semuta which came out just before Christmas. As I spoke to the band they were preparing for a special show at St James next month and they told me about that and a lot more.
Dan Ashplant is a new face on the scene – his debut EP appeared from nowhere last year showing a new young talent with an interest in everything from country rock to Status Quo. He played a session for us including a cover of Sorrow (as previously performed by both Quo and David Bowie, amongst others) as well as two tracks from his EP King Of The Country Road.
