This has felt like another musically very busy month with Guernsey’s music scene getting back into its own swing after the usual quieter January and lots of other stuff going besides.
From the Guernsey scene I’ve got a couple of tracks including one from Lifejacket who made their return to The Fermain Tavern and a track from The Electric Shakes who triumphantly headlined Sound At St James 2.
Jersey are represented too by the piratical folk of Parish 13 who dropped their own debut album.
Else where there’s new(ish) stuff from Bruce Springsteen’s Western Stars movie, The Hillbilly Moon Explosion’s Sparky Sessions and Amanda Palmer’s EP raising money for the Australian Bush Fire appeal.
In more vintage moments Black Sabbath marked the fiftieth anniversary of their debut album and, from a similar era but rather differently, I watched the movie version of the musical Hair so there’s something from that too.
As well as that, just because they’ve come up this month and they’re great songs, I’ve got tracks from Ginger Wildheart and Primal Scream.
