So we’re back…
What happened and what’s new?
After a long stint working on the old Guernsey gigs site I decided to move the whole thing over to facebook after they created events and pages which become more and more useful for bands to promote themselves with, but it’s getting to a point now where events and pages are slowly becoming buried lower and lower in the news feed to the point where they are almost white noise, so I felt like it might be time to bring the Guernsey gigs website back, so we can once again have a central point to for events and information on local music and this time I have some help!
Who are we?
For those who don’t know, I’m Elliott Mariess of Brunt I work in Graphic design, Film, Photography and audio production, I started Guernsey gigs back in 2011 when I realised there wasn’t anywhere online to go for gig listings, it kind of grew from there… since I switched the site over to facebook a few other people have gotten involved…
Gregory Harrison of the recks and the skillet lickers saw the potential in hosting our own gigs and events and so together we devised the idea and format for the Jam nights and now we’re rolling out our idea for an unplugged club and we have many more ideas in the pipeline.
Andy Sauvage of Lifejacket then joined the team to contribute his coding skills and also his recording/production skills, so we’ve been working on building this swanky new website.
Simon Rivers of Clameur de Haro came aboard to help out with all the organising and planning.
Tanyth Opie (yet to find herself a band) has also offered her help with coordinating finances so we don’t spend all the money we don’t have on putting on gigs we can’t afford….
Lee burton of Jawbone has also stepped in to be our counterpart in Jersey under the name Jersey Gigs (lots of work to do there so watch this space!)
